Garment Pattern Fitting |
|
| |
One Day. (Sewing machine optional) but ideally two days (sewing machine required). Intermediate and advanced. |
|
| |
Well designed art-to-wear becomes truly wearable when it fits well. Say goodbye to boxy shapes with gaping necklines. Learn how to adjust a pattern to improve the fit at the bust, armhole, neck edge, back and shoulders. Bring your specific fitting problem to this class and learn how to solve it! You will learn how to accurately measure the body, and tissue-fit the pattern. By the end of Day One you will have a vest pattern that fits you far better than it did before.
Options to consider for two or more days (sewing machine required): A second day allows time for testing jacket patterns with sleeves or designing with the altered vest pattern (pivoting darts, revising neckline shape, etc.)., Day Three would be actual construction techniques (e.g. incorporating darts into pieced designs, quilting a shaped garment), and Day Four would cover finishing details and embellishment. Consider this for your next retreat or master class! |

Purls of Wisdom-the Joys of Contemplative Knitting! |
|
| |
Half to One Day. All skill levels, but participants must be able to cast-on, knit and purl, and cast off with confidence. |
|
| |
Knitting is a simple act of two stitches: knitting and purling. You can become a mindful knitter, focusing on your creativity. Like meditation, knitting calms the mind with its gentle repetitive rhythms. Feed your soul by creating something beautiful - a shawl that will give comfort and pleasure. There will be time to knit quietly and contemplatively, and time to knit together in a circle of community. Knitting works well as both a solitary and social act. |
